What Can I expect?
Each lesson consists of:
- Grooming (Pick horses feet, curry, hard brush,fly spray or coat conditioner and then soft brush)
- Tacking (saddle pad, saddle, girth, bridle)
- warm-up( stretching our selves and our horses, getting a sense of how are partner is feeling today)
- Ride Time(instruction time building towards a riding goal.)
- Cool-down (allowing our horse to cool off after our workout, stretching and
- Un-tack, put tack away and clean it. (wipe down leather and clean off bit)
- Clean-up the horse and put him away.
What equipment do I need to take lessons?
- A helmet(preferably designed for equestrian activities ($35- $500 new depending on your preference). The $35 helmets are perfectly acceptable
- Boots with a definite heel ($70-$200 new)
- well fitting pants ( jeans, riding tights or riding breeches($20-200 new)
